SOULFUL SUNDAY

A sound bath & intuitive painting experience for slowing down, switching off and reconnecting with your creativity

DATE: Sunday 18th October
TIME: 11am – 4pm
VENUE: Craigie Village Hall
COST: £125 – includes sound bath, all art materials and a nourishing light lunch

This is a completely different kind of creative day.

Soulful Sunday is less about learning how to paint — and much more about giving yourself permission to stop.

To step away from the noise, the jobs, the lists and the constant doing for a few hours and spend a day simply being creative.

We’ll keep the group deliberately small, so the whole day feels calm, spacious and personal — with plenty of room to relax into the sound bath, take your time with your painting and just enjoy being there.

You absolutely donot need to be an artist.

This workshop is for anyone who feels they could do with some time out, a little calm, and the chance to reconnect with that creative part of themselves that can so easily get buried underneath everyday life.

We’ll begin with a60-minute guided sound bath with the wonderful Fiona Smith.

If you’ve never experienced one before, a sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you simply lie back while instruments such as singing bowls, gongs and chimes create layers of sound and vibration around you.

Then, feeling hopefully a little quieter and more settled, we move into the creative part of the day.

You’ll have your own50cm canvas and an abundance of paints, inks and other lovely materials to explore.

I’ll guide you into starting an intuitive painting inspired by whatever came up for you during the sound bath — perhaps a colour, an emotion, an image, a sense of calm, energy or simply a mark you feel like making.

There isno image to copy and no finished painting you’re supposed to produce.

We’ll work with colour, texture, pattern, layers and instinct.

There is no right.

There is no wrong.

And you absolutely cannot mess it up.

This is about allowing yourself to create without judgement, without worrying whether something is “good”, and without having to know where the painting is going before you begin.

No artistic experience required

In fact, this workshop may be just as lovely for someone who hasn’t painted since school as it is for someone who paints regularly.

You don’t need to arrive feeling creative.

You don't need to know what you're going to paint.

You just need to arrive(and bring a blanket or two)

We’ll stop for anourishing light lunch, with plenty of time to chat, breathe, wander around your painting and come back to it with fresh eyes.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with your own completely individual 50cm artwork — but more importantly, I hope you leave feelinglighter, calmer, creatively recharged and as though you’ve spent a few precious hours properly filling your own cup.

Not a painting class.

Not a wellness retreat.

Just a rather lovely Sunday for your creative soul.

Sound bath information

Sound is not just heard, it is felt.

Every sound is a vibration which is felt in the physical body. A sound bath literally bathes you in ripples of sound which resonates in your entire body, using assorted instruments such as, crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums and voice.

Contra indications for Soundbaths:
For individuals who are:
in early pregnancy,
live with a pacemaker,
have sound induced epilepsy,
have unmanaged bipolar disorder or psychosis,

it is unadvisable to attend a sound bath due to the possibility of the strong vibrations triggering a reaction. A sound journey should not be undertaken while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.

Please ask if you are unsure whether the session is appropriate for your health situation.
